Flamer

Looking at photos
In an album
From 1989
She thinks how
Tomorrow seemed
A lot further away
When she was here last night

She could remember
All the lines
From a poem
That made her cry
And god was real
When she closed her eyes

She didn't know
The words
That broke her spirit
Or the way
Blood would never wash out
Of her favorite shirt
After tonight

When the thoughts
She kept inside
Were simply secrets
About Daddy's lie
She was just a child
But now she's gone too far

A picture taken yesterday
With her in a dress
And a smile
"Too fake"
She thinks
And burns it

Looking away from flames
That melted her away
Tonight
To find him crying
She finally wins

"You die now
For all the times you killed me"

And her flame spreads
