Thirteen ways of looking at a Cat ~*~*~ By: LinkGirl

--------------------------------------------

I           In the deep darkness,

            Dragon-eyes peer out,

A sign of a true cat.

II          The child squeals,

            A sight of moving fur.

            The furry toy,

            Too fast to play with.

III        My master,

            A towering monster.

            I never know

When that tricky feline will pounce.

IV        Oh great guardian,

            Like a four legged angel.

            Watch me you do,

Like an angel with golden eyes and golden fur.

            I am your Kitty.

            And you are my Cat.

V         Kitty, my kitty.

            Kitty, my friend.

Come out and play with me,

Please don’t let our fun end.

VI        A figure as silent,

            As the smooth pebble stone.

            The cat stands watch

            To a temple unknown.

VII       These Great Gods,

            Worship them so.

            Cats

            Above all others.

Or may you be fed to Anubis

            In the afterlife.

VIII      Motionless and silent.

            In blacks and grays,

            The cat sits,

            Dead and cold.

IV        The curious kitty samurai,

            Dressed in a light kimono.

            Ready to save the day.

V         On the edge of white,

            A cat chasing my pen,

            Running thick black ink.

VI        A quick breath.

            A black cat.

            My heart beats

            To a shrill scream.

            My eyes shut tight.

            My luck is lost.

VII       Once a kitty, born to be proud.

Once a kitty, lively and curious.

Once a cat, lazy and vicious.

Once a cat, soon to be gone....

VIII      Lazy bathing in the sun,

            Not caring or daring,

            Just being a cat.
