The sky's blue mirror up above,
Edged with life so green and gold,
Sees all and yet sees not at all.

Solid and yet so fragile still,
Till the ripples this way spill.
The mirror of the life we live.
Bread-crumbs to the ducks we give.

Do throw a stone and watch it PLOP.
Skipping off the water-top.
The lake-grass sways in waves to bright,
This way, that way in the light.

Swans go by in slow prominade,
Their reflections slowly fade.
Feathers rustle in the breeze,
Regal boats with paddles tease.

By the shores grass emrald in may,
Little children sing and play.
Mothers and Fathers gaze with care,
Making such a lovely pair.

Little mirror of grass and sky,
You will never say 'good-bye'
Without you we would never do,
Timeless and translucient too.

Mirror of life in silver glazed,
Watching us for all our days.
Watch the moon dance in the night,
Ever peaceful, n'er a fight.
