tears of gray

despondent, bleak, and downcast is the sky.
forbidding clouds, so gray and deathly pale,
and melancholy blue, morosely sigh.

all light, all hope, is shrouded by the veil
of clouds that darken, wretched and forlorn,
the lurking presence of a looming gale.

eyes holding back, but ones that truly mourn,
now burst, and endless raindrops strike the ground,
cold crystal orbs that fall from curtains torn.

relentless in the downpour all around,
the tears of pain and sorrow from the eye
soon turn to tears of fury, rage unbound.

i wish for you, bright sun, with warmth, to dry
the tears, subdue the torrent from up high.
