A pinioned bird twixt earth and sky,
Forever chastened, n'er to fly.
Free only to do what society buys.
A pinioned bird that cannot fly.

A caged bear in box too small,
Nowhere to roam, though nowhere to fall.
Forever watched and forever alone,
A caged bear in a box of roan.

A glittering fish in a tank,
Showing its scales jewled as a bank.
Caged yet as the other two,
It is always just as blue.

A human in this life today,
Dreaming of the world of Fey.
Trapped and pinioned, evermore,
Dreaming of those days of lore.

So many creatures in a cage,
Stuck behind the bars they rage.
Will society set them free?
The future they will never see.
