I built a castle on the sand,
Stone by stone and hand by hand.
The sand was tall and big and proud
Tall as tall with battlements round.

I built that castle for awhile,
Till the sea got in a rile
My castle, built too close to shore,
Waves around the walls did pour.

Soon the waves the monument bore,
Were too much and it was gored,
Down came my castle in the sand,
Though the waves back I did fan.

Building castles too close to shore,
Even if rocks are their core,
Does not work, I do know that now.
To the sea that I must bow.
Same with life, I know that now.
