I wonder,
Do you ever think?
About what you're life would be like now,
If he was still around,
Would you be the same person you are?
If he was still by your side.
Childhood memories are all you have,
A life cut short,
A house left empty,
Echoes throughout,
The only thing you want,
More than anything else,
Is to be with your dad.
With your dad was your home,
You're life,
You're world,
You never know how important,
Things are until they're gone.
Sure you loved him,
When he was around,
But the things he did,
The things he said,
Didn't make you smile,
Half as much,
As they would now.
But 'life goes on,'
As people say,
It's hard to see past that brick wall,
Fight through the pain,
Understand why it happened,
And accept he's gone.
This day will be harder than most,
A year on,
A year without him,
A year of hiding,
Your tears behind smiles,
But has anyone told you,
It's all right to cry.
