Disclaimer: The prose/essay’s mine – it’s already been copyrighted to me, so don’t bother. You’ll only land yourself in trouble. (Like you would want to steal it anyway -__-)

Author’s Note: This was based off of “Kavari,” with some elements/details added in, and some taken out. I originally intended for this essay to be depressing, so don’t blame me.

Have you ever wondered why life acts the way it does? Why it’s sometimes unfair, why sometimes it’s fair? Why it’s completely unbearable and why it’s completely livable (not at the same time, mind you)? To tell the truth, I have wondered this, and the closest answer I could come up with besides “that’s just the way it is” was that it all comes down to the actions we humans do. Actions, decisions, consequences, that sort of thing. It all comes down to that.  Whether you deny it or not, it’s the truth.

That’s what I consider as my philosophy – my laws of life, if you want to call it that. Life is a result of your actions. Life’s worth it, even through all the torment and the pain and the grief of everything else. It’s all worth it. It just matters what you get out of it. Whether it’s every countless emotion there is, or just the feeling of life letting you down – hard. It’s all completely worth it.

Which brings me to my next point: if what you get out of life is satisfaction with yourself for helping somebody, giving to charity, or volunteering, then life’s being good to you. If all you are is selfish and don’t help anyone except yourself and your family members (when needed), and if you do nothing to help the world to keep it from deteriorating and make it a better place, then chances are life’s not going to be good to you – even if you are a good person overall and don’t cause any trouble. It really all comes down to human nature and actions. Genuine compassion and generosity will get you somewhere – and chances are what you do onto others, they’ll likewise do onto you. If you help them out, they’ll help you, too, in return. For whatever you do to help improve the world and in general society, it’ll in turn, help others – sort of like the pay it forward idea.

That’s one unwritten law of life – or the inscribed code in your heart that you know unconsciously: Good things come to those who deserve it, and those who give and expect nothing in return end up getting something far more rewarding than money and jewels in the end. And that’s pure happiness, joy, rapture, exhilaration – and satisfaction that youdid something that paid off indescribably for words in the end.

There’s another one that I practically have to live by, if you know my background. And that’s the most important law of all – Live every day to the fullest. Give everything that you have in everything and expect nothing in return for what you’ve done – whether it be love, honesty, hard work, or all three.  We all are not going to live forever; we know that – so live every single day to the fullest. Life’s too short – every second, minute, hour, day counts. Get everything you can out of life.

So for now I ask you: when you have an opportunity that’s offered to you, would you seize it? Or would you not and regret it for the rest of your life? Take every chance that you get – that’s one law of life. Take risks, no matter how damaging they might be – just take them. Who knows, they just might pay off in the end.

There’s another law of life that I live by every single day: Never judge by what you see. Every person’s different, we know that. Whether we’d choose to accept it as a part of them and who they are or not, that’s our choice. All it comes down to, as I said before, is actions and human nature. The choices that we make reflect upon who we are as both individuals and human beings as a whole. So you see, it’s pretty much what and how we control what we do. And not just by actions, but also by thoughts, feelings and what we see right in front of us, or fantasies and dreams that we weave that turn out to be illusions or something we’re really seeing. For what it is or who it is. Actions, decisions and consequences all go together – and affect, in a large way, something. Or someone.

Have you ever wondered why life acts the way it does? Why it’s sometimes unfair, why sometimes it’s fair? Why it’s completely unbelievable and why it’s completely livable (not at the same time, mind you)? Well, now you know. And whether you carry with you the laws of life, that’s your choice. It all comes down to what you pick. It’s your choice, your decision. And yours alone.

Go ahead and choose.
