Awakening

by mirrored angel

~*~*~*~*~

Living in a dream world

Days passing away, every one

Just like the last.

Buried forever in the stream of time.

You think you could just open your eyes

And whisk it all away.

When you retire at night

Into the world of dreams

Are you certain

Which world is real?

Maybe we’re all just figments

Of someone’s imagination

Maybe when we dream at night

We’re living our lives?

What happens when you do not dream?

Where are you, are certain?

Where are you when you first open your eyes

In this world, or the other?

Some days feel like dreams to me

Others like reality

Still more like nightmares I wish I would wake up from

And discover they were dreams.

I slip back into some world

And live some life I have

Parallel to another world.

I’m crossing over again

sitting in Geography

Wondering which one I’m in.

I can’t be sure if anything’s real

Anymore.

I slowly nod off, and rest my head again

And suddenly I snap open my eyes

and wonder where I’ve been.
