A plain stone of indifferent hue,
Plain and round and not quite smooth.
Crack it open and what do you find?
A dazzle of jewled colours left behind.
To do this though you destroy the stone,
Smash it into bits unknown.
The same with people, I suppose.
When you realize their gifts they
Are broken like stone.
