AUTHOR'S NOTE: I wrote this by request for my cousin, who wanted me to express the way she felt about her husband on their wedding day. So she told me how he made her feel and I wrote this. I haven't felt this way myself, but apparently it did the job.....

~Revelation~

It came upon me -
a quiet whisper
of mystery;
a secret smile
that holds everything
I think I've missed
in my life.

It's the way I seem
so unlike myself;
the way I forget
what held me back.

It's the silent promise
that makes me
apprehensive
and unsure,
and shy;
but I love it all the same.

It's knowing that,
for once,
I'm more than I'm
trying to be;
and within that
I've found who I'm
meant to become.

It's the realization
that the dark
holds no fear for me now;
that my sleep
no longer be troubled.

It's the way
my phantoms have fled-
at night,
as we lie together.

It's the way we
watch each other
and that which we share-
warmth,
secrets,
companionship.

It's the way
that time
along with anything else
loses all meaning
and all moments take forever.

It's the siren's call
that I cannot
resist - the call
which beckons
with everything I
want to experience.

And it's the knowledge
that I,
despite every fear I've had,
have gained what
I thought
never to have-
the knowledge that
despite all
reservations
and all that's transpired
I've done it -
I've fallen in love.
