Liar

You were going to be happy
Like they couldn't
Afford cool toys
And still be able to pay the bills
You were going to be better
Than your history
You were going to be a good father
Better than you had
You weren't going to give in
Sell out
Give your soul away
To a non-existent God

You lied to yourself
And to so many others

Raged at an innocent family
To make them hate you
So you could convince yourself
That you were better
Called them stupid
Made your mother cry
She's worthless anyway
Ruined your life
You held a knife to her throat
While she was sleeping
Wondering what she would think
When she woke up dying
Wondering what it would feel like
To die

You told yourself you'd never
Give up on life
As you draw the blade
Back
Digging in
Pouring out
Blood that always ran
From you
Because you lied
When you said that you'd be
Great
