The shades had been drawn. It was the first thought that popped into
Sada's head as she came groggily into consciousness. With tremendous effort
she pried an eye open and sure enough the heavy velvet curtains were open
to the lightening sky. Careful not to move suddenly she sat up deliberately
ignoring the protesting cry her body gave. Geez, when had mugging become so
painful, she laughed bitterly. If only Christian had stayed where he
belonged, at her side, none of this would have happened. Her senses would
have been alert to the humans. If only I hadn't shown him. . . .
It was then it hit her. Garlic! Who had drenched her room in
garlic?!!! The smell clouded her mind as a noxious gas would. No wonder her
injuries were so painful, Sada's body hadn't been able to heal itself, with
the disturbance the garlic caused to her the injuries stung worse than
ever. A tingle in her limbs caused her to look down. Terror blossomed so
strong in her she was nearly sick. Her wrists had been chained cruelly with
tightly woven garlic stock. The paralysis of sleep was shaken off only to
be replaced with an overpowering sting. Whipping her head around Sada
watched in distress as the sun rose quickly and steadily. The pain was so
intense from the twin assaults that tears clouded her eyes leaving bloody
trails down her cheeks. Saeran if only I had listened to you. . .
