The world ended in silence

A million dreams and thoughts gone forever

To the cold, empty gloom of death

Countless voices eternally lost to void

In pace requiescat, the love of days gone past

The future is gone, gone to no end

What could have been so much is now nothing more to see

And yet time passes on, heedless of pain

My agony, my remorse for a world destroyed

A single tear melds with crimson fury

As I watch that world sealed away for eternity

Lowered, lowered to six feet under

Darkened eyes blind to my grief

Cold lips never to feel affection’s kiss

A lock of midnight is all that remains

To tell the tale of the apocalypse
