So Long

So long to you
The face I see in my mind
My wishes didn’t make it far

Now I am left here
As the distance between us grows
A rush of endorphins numbs me

The memories which I’ve held
The feeling that kept me high
The world seems to crumble beneath my feet

All the while I cannot hold you
The current pulls you away
Its dark and lonely where I stay

I must look through a new angle
Though the world doesn’t feel the same
I hear the things I can no longer bear to know

I cannot stop thinking of what I’ve lost
Of what I must say good -bye to
The drive and will in essence of you

Life is spinning on in its whirlwind of splendors
But I’m stuck suspended in air

It is I who holds on to your words and your memory
This tree of a thing has outgrown me
I must let go

As you are the sun that shines within
And I am the moon that feels
We shall meet again, perhaps in an eclipse

For now adieu to all I knew
So long my all, my heart
This is the end…and the beginning.
