If I turn my head to greet deferring fall
That comes seeping through destiny's door
The infinite will stiffen and the definite will stall

With gentle artistry I will enthrall
My winding thread in the burlap of yours
If I turn my head to greet deferring fall

My words are a jumble of earthly scrawl
that ricochet off my sonorous score
Till the infinite will stiffen and the definite will stall

So I skirt the edge of a wailing wall
With a vandal's monument of lore
When I turn my head to greet deferring fall

Then I come to a city of dusty drawl
And a patchwork carpet of rapport
Where the infinite will stiffen and the definite will stall

While the years advance with a corduroy sigh
And a flaking gold emblem of age,
I turn my head to greet deferring fall
So the infinite will stiffen and the definite will stall
