grey granite holds no heart for warmth
cold marble keeps no memories
when the sun sets
who will remember ?

don't close me in
hold my spirit down
with earthly stone
and thoughtless dirt

when clocks have stopped
and air is still
keep my past alive
with your tears and prayers

preserve what is left
in verses and song
keep me in mind
and my soul may travel

let me not pass away twice
will your love not grow
stronger ?
