Not from here.
One time in England there was a pair of twins, whose lives were changed forever. Their names were Kurai and Karai Shisei which meant light and dark, and their last name meant life and death. Kurai had sandy blonde hair and fair skin, he also had light blue eyes. He was cheerful and upbeat and talked a lot. His sister Karai had quite long hair that was such an indescribable black which held the same for her eyes. Anyone who looked into her eyes after the day of the funeral felt such sadness and depression one would want to kill them selves just to end the pain. Her skin was so pale it looked white, which gave her a vampiric look.
The funeral you ask, it was for their parents they were only five when they died. After that day Karai never spoke again. Of course they were put in an adoption agency and were adopted at age six. The adoptive parents never like Karai, I suppose it was because she wouldn't enter the pink room they gave her, and preferred the attic which the houses previous owners' kid painted black and made into his bedroom, but that is another story. It has been 12 years since the funeral and Kurai has been protecting his sister from all of the kids at school, their 17 and in their junior year. Can he still protect her when she's going through some things only she can see?
Karai opened her eyes and looked at her clock, it was midnight and she was still afraid to go back to sleep. iThat dream again, I'm tired of having that dream./i She rolled over falling asleep instantly, in her dream she saw her self in a grave yard. Up a head of her she saw an angel sitting on a tombstone. The angel had one white wing with a few scattered black feathers, and a black wing with a few scattered white feathers. Tears of blood dripped down the angel's cheeks as she got closer the angel became clearer. Till she realized the angel was her and she was sitting on her own grave. Karai awoke yet again this time she sat up, and got out of bed to light some incense to help calm her. "Good Karai you are awake," a voice in the dark called to her softly. "Karai no need to be frightened." Karai looked around her room trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. "I am dead my dear, a ghost floating on with endless time." Karai looked up and saw a woman sitting on a rafter on the ceiling. "Oh don't worry love, you are the only one who can see or hear me."
Karai fell to the floor in fear, she tried to tell the woman to leave her alone but couldn't. Kurai came up the stairs and found his sister lying on the floor looking upwards. "Karai, you okay?" Karai shook her head no; her brother walked over and helped her up. "You will be soon. Go back to sleep you need it, I'll see you in the morning." As Kurai left the room the ghost opened the window shutters letting in the full moons light. As it spilled onto Karai it changed her look, from long black hair to long black silver, with a black silver tail, and if she had her eyes open they would have gone from black to violet. Upon her head sat a pair of silver black tipped ears. Upon her back was a pair of folded wings, just like the dream Karai. Kurai paused and looked back gasping at his sisters sight. He walked in to the moonlight and looked at him self; he had not changed at all. "Oh sister what is going on?" For you see, although the twins were born on Earth, they were really from a planet called Taiearth. From here their journey to Taiearth begins.
Kurai turned to walk out of his sisters' room, not noticing that a sliver of the moon's light touched him, making his short unruly hair longer and more silver, along with a pair of silver grey wings, whose tips just brushed the floor. The ghost just looked down and smiled, "soon you two will head for home where you belong on Taiearth." It faded away into the night. The next morning Karai awoke and rubbed her head, she felt different somehow but wasn't sure how. Kurai walked up the stairs and looked to his sister, "You alright Karai?" ~I'm fine Kurai, I just feel different somehow.~ "What happened to you last night, you have the graveyard dream again?" Karai glared at her brother, ~Look I don't care what you say, its telling me something.~ "Just like the night you saw mum and pop's funeral in a dream." ~Two days before they died. But this dream is different, it's telling me to go somewhere.~
Kurai sat on the bed next to his sister, and leaned his head on her shoulder, ~And everyone says you're the brave one little brother.~ "It's true you protect me more than I can protect you. So where are we going to go?" Karai looked out the window to where she was sitting could barely see the moon, "Taiearth." Was the only word she spoke, although it was ever so soft that many people would have been left guessing what she said her brother heard it. "You always did have the voice of an angel." Karai looked at him sadly and walked to the window. *Damn, I never get more than one word out of since she stopped speaking after our parents died.* ~You know I can't speak, if I were to it would only cause trouble.~ "I'm here to protect you." She nodded and went to grab her backpack, ~I'm glad I got this when we went hiking, you better pack too. If you're going with me, I'm leaving in an hour.~
Three hours later the twins found themselves trudging through the woods, lost and bored. "Look we are alone, will you just talk to me." Karai shook her head and pointed, up ahead of them was smoke from a cooking fire. Kurai walked ahead of his sister to go check it out and found him self face to face with an Indian. Karai walked up behind him and looked at the Indian silently, ~He will not hurt us, and he is merely doing as his chief asks. Follow him to the village we will learn more of our journey there.~ Kurai nodded and followed He Who Is Swift, after learning his name through his sister. *I admire her, she has the gift of telepathy and universal translation. My gifts are not nearly as great*
