The Name is the Same

Chapter 2

Maria pinched herself, “Ouch! Oh, man, this is real!! But….how can this happen to me? I…” Her home phone rang. Hmm…might as well get the phone, at least I’m in my house.

She grabs the phone and said, “Hello?” Whoa, my voice changed too! I sound like her, yuck!

“Maria!! It’s me, Maria!”-silence-“wow, that sounds lame,” came the other Maria’s voice. Well, more like this Maria’s voice.

“It is lame; anyway, I can’t stand living in your body! How am I supposed to go out to my parents and tell them I switched bodies with you??” Maria Pietroski shouted.

“Shut it! Are you trying to make me death?? Being in your ugly body is already a curse! Oh, and by the way, in case you’re wondering, you’re in my house right now.”

What?? You’re such a liar, you think I can’t tell whose house I’m in??”

“I guess not, we have similar rooms, I thought your room was mine first too until I saw your stupid poster of…”

“Okay, I get your point.”

“Okay, then tell me what to do! I can’t believe this is really happening to me of all people!!” Maria Pietanza shrieked.

“Alright, if we tell other people, they won’t believe us anyway so let’s just act like each other, okay? I’m sure this nightmare will end soon.”

“It better end soon.”

Maria sighed and cuts the phone. Is this what Rona mean yesterday? Oh, this is horrible! What am I going to do??

Maria got dressed in Maria’s school uniform and walked into the living room. She saw a dog running to her. “Stay dog, stay!”-Mumbles-“damn! Maria didn’t tell me she had a dog! I’m scared of them!!”

The dog stopped running and sat down. Maria sighed and tried to walk away from the dog without it going to her. She walked to the breakfast table. She noticed no one was home. No wonder no one heard me scream, stupid me. The house isn’t that big, it’s almost like mine, and she’s calling me poor, isn’t she the same level of wealth as me? Maria shook her head rolling her eyes.

**

Meanwhile the other Maria was being really nosy; she was looking through her enemy’s stuff. She was now at her drawers. She was about to dig in when she heard a knock on her door. Err, stupid interruptions.

“Maria! Honey, your friend Laura is here,” came a women’s voice. Maria was guessing it must be Maria Pietroski’s mother. Maria rolled her eyes and got up from the floor. She dusted herself off and opened the door.

A woman that looked almost like Maria Pietroski looked at her. “Good morning, honey!” she hugged the used to be red head. Maria really wanted to pull away but held it to herself and waited for the stranger to let go of her.

“Good morning…mom…” Maria said as the woman pulled away.

“Yeah, come on, eat your breakfast, Laura’s here already,” Mrs. Pietroski said dragging her “daughter” with her. Maria made a face when she caught sight of the blonde.

Laura seemed to have noticed that and had a questioned look on her face. Maria walked to the lunch table and sat next to her “friend”.

“Are you mad at me, Maria?” Laura asked.

Of all people why am I stuck in Maria Pietroski’s body??? Maria looked really mad. “If you keep this act up, I will be so just shut it, alright?”

Laura frowned and looked away when the phone rang. Maria madly marched to the phone and yelled, “What do you want?”

“You should really change your attitude, Miss Porky. It’s bad for your health, plus, I’m not as bitchy as you so act like me, Maria!” came her rival’s scream.

“You idiot, stop using my cell phone to call your house!”

“So what? You never told me you had a dog in your house!”

“Whatever, don’t be mean to him though! He’s a nice dog and his name is Puppy.”

“What kind of name is that? Too lazy to give a name to a dog?”

“Don’t make fun of its name, you lowlife!” Maria scolded.

“Maria, get off the phone, it’s time for school and please don’t yell at your friend,” Mrs. Pietroski said. She shook her head and walked off again.

Maria stomped her foot madly, “Okay, mom”-to Maria-“your mom is complaining, I’m getting off the phone.”

“Wait, not yet! You never told me where you put your schedule yet, I need to go to your classes,” the other Maria reminded her.

“Err, it’s on my table in my room, okay? Now where’s your program card?”

“It’s in my book bag.”

“Okay,” with that Maria slammed the phone.

**

Maria Pietroski who is now Maria Pietanza frowned. She went back to Maria’s room and looked for her program card. A-ha! There it is! Let me see…

Her eyes went wide as she scanned the card. It was:

Period 1: Music

Period 2: English

Period 3: Spanish

Period 4: Math

Period 5: Swimming

Period 6: Science

Period 7: Lunch

Period 8: Social Studies

Oh my God! I can’t swim nor can I speak Spanish!! What am I going to do??

Meanwhile the other Maria was also scanning her schedule:

Period 1: Lunch

Period 2: Math

Period 3: Italian

Period 4: Marching Band

Period 5: Social Studies

Period 6: Science

Period 7: English

Period 8: Graphic Design

“This is so not cool,” Maria mumbled.

Author’s Notes: Yay! Another chapter done! Hope you all liked this one, hehe. Oh yeah, some of the subjects the two Maria have, I have. ^^ Oh yeah, and I made a little mistake in the last chapter, hehe typo. Good thing Eliott85 told me, hehe. “Oh, hey, Rona!”-To her best friend-“I invented Rona to lunch with us today, you don’t mind, do you?” Laura asked. It should be invited, not invented, lol. Also, both Marias are mean and nice. Hehe. Lastly, I want to say that I’m going to update Online and Offline Love next and then add my new story up. It’s called Beyond the Wall of Bricks. It’s a story about kids in love. How they fail to win their love ones’ heart. The genre is romance and humor. Also, thanks for the reviews, DreamNightmare, Zoey7 and Eliott85! Bye!
