Godless

For all we’re worth we do not deserve

To have him take what we’ve tried to preserve

In a time now gone a love did live

Among those who wanted only to give.

This love died in a gutter of Hate

And gave way to him and his precious Fate.

Wars waged and blood spilt

Did neither appease nor spread guilt.

Pain and screams and death and blood

Mix before him in a bloody flood.

And upon his throne he looks down and demands

That we follow the Good Voice in his commands.

Yet behind his eyes is a boy who crouches

his clothes are torn, his fragile back slouches.
