"Oi! J-Man! Chuck us another A-string will you?"
"Don't tell me you snapped another one," Justin groaned, tossing
another packet to Peter. "They don't come around easy, Pete."
"I know, I know, but if we're going to make quality, kickass guitars..."
Peter droned
"Okay, okay, dammit, I get the picture."
Peter smirked.
"So, where does this order have to go?"
"Some hellhole in some ghost town."
"Gotcha. Brian's Musical Things?"
"Right-o."
A guy wearing baggy jeans and a green sweatshirt walked up to them.
"Guys, we are so freaking busy this week it is just not funny."
"I know Rob. Get back to work you prick."
Rob looked around.
"You guys need some more A-strings dontcha?"
"Fifteen dollars ma'am," he said.
Harlie handed over a twenty and told him to keep the change. She got out of the
taxi and took out a piece of paper with an address scribbled on it. She walked
along the road, keeping her eyes on the numbers plastered on the buildings. She
found it, Number 67, Lamber street. She went through the automatic doors and
found the reception desk. She was greeted by a brunette checking a Music Store
on the internet. When she saw Harlie she looked up and smiled.
"Hi. Welcome to Kickass Guitars. I'm Jessica. Can I help you?"
Harlie secretly wondered how much this company paid for such a secretary.
"Um, yeah. I'm from Lightning Advertising. My name's Harlie Ricketson, and
my company has sent me here to see what is it you really need in your
advertising. May I please speak with your Manager?"
"Oh yes. Sure. Would you like to see if he's availiable now, or schedule a
meeting?"
"Maybe now would be more convenient?"
"Okay. Just let me call upstairs. It'll be a minute," Jessica smiled,
and she picked up the phone and pressed a speed-dial button. She heard someone
pick up and started speaking. "Hey. Rob? There's a girl from Lightning who
wants to see Justin, so can you drag his lazy butt away from all that lacquered
wood and other such crap and into his office? Thanks." She put the phone
down and faced Harlie once more.
"Would you like to follow me to his office?"
Jessica let her into the office and told her Justin would be there soon
enough. Harlie didn't feel like sitting down, so she wandered around looking at
he countless posters of rock stars and classic old designed guitars. She
examined Justin's desk and saw a few more photos. Him with a few stars, and then
there was a photo with his arm wrapped around someone who looked extremely
like..
"Hi. I'm Justin," He said as he walked in through the door. "And
you are?" He held out a hand.
"Hey. As you know I'm from Lightning, my name's Harlie Ricketson," She
took his hand and they shook.
Justin froze. Then he looked like he thought twice, he shook his head and
gathered himself.
"Nice to meet you, Harlie. Have we, met before?"
"I really don't know. You seem damn familiar, though."
He let out a light laugh. "Yeah, that's what I was thinking."
Harlie sat down. "So, um, let's get down to it."
"Now, what, exactly, is it that you're here for?"
"Well, my group actually sent me down here to explore what your company
really needs in an advertisement, so we don't.."
"Come up with crap that we'll get pissed off at when we see it for the
first time on TV?" Justin finished.
"Yes, that's correct."
"Well, do you want me to show you around, first off?"
"Okay."
"Let's go."
A/N: Okay. It still might not be clear yet, but I hope I've eased some of the fog off, for now. If anyone was wondering, the party last night was great, I made some new friends blah blah blah, and the sun is hurting my eyes because I got up late this morning but am still tired. blah blah blah. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and keep your eyes open for more.
Review.
