Hey guys, I know you think this is an update, but I wanted to ask you to read a few stories because now it’s difficult for a lot of people to get reviews since this place is so overloaded. If you want me to put your story as a suggested read on my updates, lemme know. And I wanted to say something.

First, my decision to have the characters to abstain from anymore sexual conduct is my decision and I don’t like accusations of how ‘pure’ I am as if that was a bad thing. I respect people who do choose to abstain.

Second, if you guys could go to:

Katelyn Devaney’s page and read: Forever Friend’s 5. It’s our combined effort. Her stories are also really good. We’d both really appreciate this.

Sxy Princess’s page and read: The Ripple Affect and Finding Love. It’s me and her combined. Her other stories are also really amazing.

First suggested author where I’m not involved with her writing: Moz. Really nice girl and a great writer. I’d really appreciate you reading her stuff.

All Over a Girl

Chapter 10: Girls are Stupid

Recap from chapter 9:

Ug, you guys, geez, do you ever stop?” Billy cried, throwing his arms up into the air as he spotted a shirtless Jake hovering over Nicole as he kissed her.

Nicole deepened the kiss for a moment, knowing that their time alone was over, before pulling away with a twinkle in her eye. Jake spotted the look and nearly groaned. She always knew how to rile him up.

Never,” Nicole called back to Billy, peeking out from under Jake’s arm.

I can see that,” Billy responded rather sourly which peaked the couple’s attention. Jake and Nicole shared a look of surprised before Jake rolled off her and stared at his roommate and best friend.

What the hell,” Jake began to whisper before Billy turned around and glared at him.

Don’t even ask,” Billy snapped which was completely uncharacteristic of him. “I’m going to shower. I’ll be back.”

Without another word, he strode out of the room to hit the showers.

What…”

I don’t know,” Nicole interrupted Jake, putting a hand on his chest. “But I’m going to find out.

……………

Nicole sighed as she flopped back down on the bed beside her shirtless boyfriend, wondering about Billy’s odd behavior.

“Hey, he can’t always be a happy idiot,” Jake said softly, sitting on his side and looking down at her as one hand ran down her arm.

“Ya, I guess. He has been acting weird lately. I bet its Janet,” she replied, shutting her eyes. “Sometimes boys are so stupid.”

“What?” Jake asked with a smile, although he was a bit annoyed.

“He just stormed in here, pouting and yelling without bothering to tell us what was going on,” Nicole explained with a grin, reaching up to trace Jake’s mouth with her thumb. His shackles immediately lowered.

“That’s cheating,” he said kissing her finger and pulling away from her, although he enjoyed her touch.

“I know,” she said cheekily.

“Girls are stupid,” Jake shot back before he slid his hand across her stomach and tickled her.

“Ahh! No! Stop,” she gasped through her laughter.

“Will you just shut up? If you’re not making out, you’re making noise,” Billy said with aggravation as he walked into the room, towel-drying his hair.

Both froze, mid-action and stared at him. They were both unused to this side of Billy, this cranky, unpleasant person.

“What crawled up your butt and died?” Jake asked wryly and Nicole pinched him, causing him to grunt with pain.

‘No,’ she mouthed, shaking her head and Jake just rolled his eyes at her.

“You did,” Billy shot back, hanging his wet towel up and flopping on his bed.

“What did you say to her?” Nicole inquired, picking Jake’s shirt up from the end of the bed and tossing it to him. He caught it and put it on.

“What are you talking about?” Billy replied sourly, crossing his arms over his chest and pouting as he watched the movie that was one.

“To Janet,” Nicole persisted although Jake was pulling on her arm and shaking his head.

“Nothing! God!” Billy snapped, sitting up and glaring at her.

Nicole was not phased by his glare and shot one right back at him.

“That might be the problem,” she said wryly and Billy’s anger faded as confusion replaced it.

“What do you mean?” he asked, running a hand through his copper curls.

“Did you even talk to her when you saw her?” Nicole asked, sliding off Jake’s bed and leaning against Billy’s right beside him.

“Yes,” he said defensively as he looked down at his fidgeting hands.

Nicole looked pointedly at him and pursed her lips.

“Alright, I clammed up. I didn’t know what to say past a few greetings and a question or two. She seemed really angry as she left,” Billy said, frowning.

“That is completely unlike you. You always get your two cents in,” Jake commented.

“I know!” Billy said with despair. “Girls are stupid!”

“Ha!” Jake shouted, pointing at Nicole. “Two against one, I win. Girls are stupid.”

“Wait, don’t drag me into a lovers’ quarrel,” Billy joked, his old demeanor back in place as he raised his hands and backed away from his bed.

“Too late, I’ve won,” Jake said with a smirk which Nicole returned.

“Uh-oh,” Billy said as he watched Nicole’s lips twist upwards in a mischievous grin. “That can’t be good.”

Jake crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against his bed. “She only thinks she has power,” Jake challenged his petite girlfriend.

“I can’t watch,” Billy said dramatically, turning and covering his eyes as Nicole approached Jake, whispered something into his ear that made his eyes widen, bit his earlobe gently which made him gasp, and exited the room with a small wave of her fingers.

“Which threat did she use this time?” Billy asked, peeking from between his fingers as he twisted to look at Jake who now looked extremely uncomfortable.

“I hate her,” he muttered, staring out the door longingly.

“Cold shower time?”

“Icy cold.”

Billy laughed. “Girls are stupid.”

……………

“Hey Janet?” Nicole asked as she reclined on her bed, wondering how long it would take Jake to finally give in and come up to see her. His pride was the only thing stopping him from coming up.

“Nicole?”

“Ya, how are you?”

“I’m fine,” Janet lied as she shifted on her bed, wishing she was with Nicole and not stuck in her house.

“Wanna come on over? I’m bored and we haven’t really hung out,” Nicole asked Janet also hoping to talk to her about Billy.

Janet stiffened as she remembered her father’s words. “I can’t,” she said and the strain in her voice was obvious.

“Why not? Your father?” Nicole guessed with disgust.

“Ya…”

“Who cares, Janet? Just come on over. Tell him you’re at the library. You need some fun,” Nicole told her, hoping she would listen.

Janet shuddered as she imagined what would happen if her father caught her. But, she also thought she was going to lose her mind if she stayed inside any longer.

“Okay, I’ll be there in five,” Janet said eagerly and hung up the phone.

Nicole grinned and shook her head. “It’ll be good for her,” she said to herself before rising to go downstairs and go wait in the lobby. She took the stairs and on the way down, Jake saw her pass.

“Nicole!” he called and she paused to grin saucily at him before continuing on her way.

“She’s probably going to check the mail, which I need to do, too,” Billy said, kind of glad he didn’t have a girl. Then he would be an even bigger idiot than Jake when it came to her.

“I’ll get it,” Jake said quickly, hurrying out to the stairwell.

“She’s so devious,” Billy laughed. She had been wearing her tank top and some pajama shorts and he knew it was just to tease Jake. “Maybe I should go and get the mail…”

He started out after them.

……………

“You should not be wearing that in the lobby,” Jake said, stepping out of the stairwell and Nicole turned with a broad grin and perused him.

“You’re cute, you know that?” she said, putting her hands on her hips.

“And you’re practically naked. See? Girls are stupid. Other guys aren’t supposed to see you like this,” Jake said lightly but the look in his ocean blue eyes was serious.

“You are jealous,” she whispered, more to herself. His little acts of possession and affection were always signs of how much he loved her and it always made her feel wonderful.

“Of course! Especially when you say something like that and then just leave,” Jake said, referring to the tempting statement she’d whispered into his ear upstairs.

“You called girls stupid. In case you’ve forgotten, I’m a girl,” she said with a teasing grin.

Jake gave her a once over, soaking up every curve with his knowing glance. “Yes. Yes, you are,” he agreed and she rolled her eyes.

“You’re such a boy,” she said wryly and Jake wrapped his arm around her waist.

“Am I forgiven?”

“Did you apologize?”

“I can…”

He lowered his lips to hers just as Billy entered the lobby.

“PDA! Good Lord you guys!” he hollered at them and they pulled away slowly, glancing at him with annoyance.

Laughter drifted into the lobby from another entrance and Janet stepped in. “The look on your faces was pretty priceless,” she said through her laughter which faded as she spotted Billy. The tender kiss she’d watched Jake and Nicole share played through her mind and she wished it had been her and Billy. But after that awkward exchange yesterday she didn’t know what would happen.

“I guess making up in public is a no-no?” Jake asked Nicole with a grin as he let his hands slide down over her hips.

“Ya, but it’s your fault for kissing me in public,” Nicole said, turning back on him but Jake merely grinned.

“I guess we’ll just have to go somewhere where I can kiss you in private,” Jake said with a wiggle of his eyebrows.

“You guys! Gross!” Billy cried moving towards them and prying them apart. “Janet, come here and help stop this atrocity.”

Janet had actually thought their banter was sweet, however inappropriate in front of others. “Okay,” she said approaching the trio but before she got there, Jake pulled Nicole away from Billy.

“I know you’re probably here to see Nicole,” Jake began, taking a few steps backwards and dragging Nicole with him. “But I have to, um, have a talk with her. She was mean to me and we have to, um, battle it out.”

Nicole glanced at him with wide eyes. She could hardly believe how bad it looked but she would be lying if she said she wasn’t looking forward to it.

Janet gaped at them as Jake pulled his girlfriend upstairs.

“That’s them for you,” Billy said with a shrug. “Hormones on a rampage.”

“How do you deal with that? Knowing that their going to go upstairs and…and…”

Billy laughed at her. “They’re just going to kiss and make-up. They don’t publicize when they really sleep together. Besides, they know we’re coming back up. They’re not that inconsiderate. And, that part of their lives is completely private. I didn’t even know they were together until Jake told me,” Billy said and he could see the relief flood Janet’s eyes.

“Aren’t they a bit young?” she asked, still a bit uncomfortable with the idea.

“I don’t know. It’s all up to the individual. Besides, he’s going to ask her to marry him,” Billy said and then clapped his hand over his mouth.

“WHAT?!” Janet exclaimed and Billy reached out to cover her mouth.

“You can’t say anything. Jake is really worried because he knows they are both really young and he’s afraid to scare her,” he whispered, removing his hand from her mouth and just then realizing how close they were standing.

“I won’t. Just, wow, getting married…” Janet remarked, shaking her head in disbelief.

“They’ll be engaged until they graduate, but, we have to wait and see if she says yes.”

“Why wouldn’t she?” Janet asked with puzzlement, noticing every aspect of Billy’s handsome face.

“Fear? I don’t know. I’m just saying what he said. He also did say, however, that they’d both agreed to abstain until marriage,” Billy told her, noticing how uncomfortable with the situation Janet was.

“Oh,” she breathed and wondered why he’d said that although it had made her feel better.

“Shocker, huh? Especially with tonight’s behavior. Although they do seem to be two peas in a pod,” Billy said with a faraway look in his eyes.

“Billy?” she asked and he glanced sharply out at her.

“Hmm?”

“I’m sorry for stalking off on you. I was just, I don’t know,” Janet said awkwardly.

Billy grinned at her, his infamous chesire cat grin.

“Don’t worry about it, girlie pants,” he said, hooking his arm into hers. “Now lets go break-up the lip lock fest.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

……………

Sorry for the long wait guys! Please lemme know how you think I’m doing and where you want it to go.
