a shot in the dark

the rain is falling apart
sidewalks crumble
leaves curl

a thirst for thoughts
a disregard for visions
i'll crave you until i taste
then your presence will be bitter
on my tongue

your expectant eyes
piercing stars
are we solar systems apart ?
or magnetized as one ?

footsteps on the grass
walking near
walking here
pass me by
i don't turn
the cycle starts again with

a shot in the dark
