I got up and got ready to throw away my lunch when I saw Danielle slap Katie across the face.
Could you guess what I did next? I bursted out laughing. I mean, really, who wouldn't? Danielle slaps Katie. Katie turns red. It's kind of a funny picture.
"Katie! What is wrong with you! I mean, really, it's obvious that Daniel doesn't like you but me!" Danielle's yell was arranged so that it could even be heard in Canada.
Some people giggled and some people gasped. Unfortunately, Danielle and Katie were known as the two most popular girls who were best friends and even shared bedrooms sometimes. How gay is that?
"He does not!" Katie yelled back at Danielle.
With a sudden motion, making everyone gasp again, Danielle slapped Katie. Then with no further words, Katie watched in shock as Danielle stalked away.
It was art next period and in art, people always worked in pairs. To the teacher, it was what you called, art is knowledge and knowledge is what you receive and share.
"There is a project due next Tuesday and of course, as you should all know, the project will be worked in pairs. Each one of you will be working with the person who sits next to you. Understand? I want you guys to draw and paint out your partner. Add little notes at the side of the poster about what you think about him/her." Ms. Larry announced.
There was a moment of awws and boos. And unfortunately, Chris sits next to me and I sit next to him.
"So, Kristine, you ready for the project we have to work together?" Chris asked, emphasizing the word 'together.'
I rolled my eyes and replied, "Whatever."
"Wanna meet at my home today after school? I'll save you some cookies?" Chris asked.
"Is your mom gonna be home?" I asked.
I meant to be serious but unfortunately, Chris didn't think so.
He bursted out laughing and said, "You're funny."
I looked at him in disgust. What the hell was wrong with him?
Chris continued to laugh and laugh... God...
---------------------Chris's home--------------
"Hi mom, I'm home. I've brought someone with me, we'll be doing a project down at the basement okay?" Chris yelled out after kicking his leg backwards to close the front door.
I could hear the water running.
"Yeah, sure, tell him to wait downstairs and come help me wash the dishes first." Chris's mom yelled back.
"It's a her mom." Chris yelled back.
I chuckled to myself. Cool family.
Chris glanced at me and said, "The basement is down that way." He pointed down the stairs to a door.
"Oh, that's weird, I never knew that. I wonder why it's called a basement." I said sarcastically, emphasizing the base in basement.
"As if I didn't know." I muttered to myself.
I walked down to the door and with a quick turn of the knob, the door opened.
I turned on the light and gasped.
The basement was huge and clean. Since when was a basement clean?
The wallpaper was tinted honey brown and the ceiling was sky blue.
Hanging form the ceiling, was a fan with a light bulb in the middle and hanging from that was a chain to pull to turn on the light.
Ahh.. two ways to open the light. I thought.
But what intrigued me was the bookshelf leaning on a wall filled with books. Since when did Chris read?
"Really neat huh?" A voice whispered in my ear.
I jerked my head towards the voice and ended up with my face so close to Chris', I could smell his minted breath.
"Yeah...really neat." I whispered, looking up at Chris.
I turned my head back at the room. It sort of looked like paradise with the shining light brightening the room.
"It's my studying place." Chris said.
"Ee.. studying place?" I didn't mean to be rude, but I couldn't help but laugh. "I never knew you studied."
"Very funny."
"Come on, let's start and get this over with." I said eagerly. Art wasn't really my thing but at least it was better than some subjects.
Chris grinned at me. "Ahh.. can't wait to work with me huh?"
I rolled my eyes. Me and my big mouth. Seems like I've been doing that a lot lately - rolling my eyes.
Chris walked over the a mat which was in the center of the room and sat down. He placed the big poster in front of him and patted the area next to him.
"Who said I wanted to sit next to you?" I asked. I sat next to him anyway.
He handed me a poster and said, "Ready to stare at me for hours? You have to make me perfect."
"So you want me to change you huh?"
"You really are funny." Chris grinned. I had to roll my eyes again!
"Draw me first." I said.
"Gladly." Chris answered.
Holding a pencil in his hands, he wrote neatly on the poster, ' - Kristine.
He looked at me and then, sketched on the poster.
It got so boring, I took out a book from his book shelf and sat back down to read.
I read for a few minutes when I heard a whisper, "Wow."
I looked up, "What?"
"Nothing, just that you look so peaceful and pretty."
I raised my eyebrows.
I didn't know what to say so I just looked down and continued to read.
And of course, I didn't get too far when I was interrupted again.
"Want a drink Kristine?"
"Uh, yeah sure. Water? I answered hastily.
"Okay."
Finally, a time to read and just read.
A few minutes later, Chris came in with drinks.
He sat down, took an ice out of his cup and threw it at me. "You're hot."
I raised the book and used it as a shield. "That was not nice!"
I took a whole bunch of ice out of my drink and threw it at him.
1 hit him square in the nose, another hit him in the forehead and the last one hit him on his arm. It was a funny sight.
He stuck out his fingers and pretended as if they were claws. "Argghh!"
I laughed as he tried to knock me over but failed horribly and landed on my drink, knocking it over, and making a mess.
He got back up and pinned me down on the floor. Chris took his drink and put it over my head.
I knew what he was going to do so I closed my eyes and waited. Waited... Nothing...
I opened one eye, and then the other.
Chris was staring at me, his face expressing a serious expression.
I took the chance to sit up and take his drink. I thought sitting up would make him move back, but unfortunately, that didn't work.
Our lips brushed against each others, mine going across his cheeks.
I moved backwards and threw his glass of water in his face.
That oughta get him moving. It did.
"Hey!" Chris yelled, a surprised look going across his face. I laughed.
Just then, the door opened and Chris' mom came in. She had a horrid look when she saw what she saw when she entered.
A/N: Don't worry, it's nothing scary or nothing disgusting =)
