Chapter Two Egypt, Royal Palace Later that night

Miu slammed the door to her quarters angrily.

Once her father had told her about her new future husband, she was at first in silent shock, then fuming with rage. Once she ran out of the room, Nsu followed her back to her quarters.

"I cannot believe father would do that to me!" She ranted to Nsu, crossing her tattooed arms across her linen dress.

Nsu shook his head. "You knew the time was going to come, Miu. It was only a matter of days."

Miu stood stubbornly. "But to some guy I don't even know," she grumbled to herself, setting herself down on the wooden chair in front of the mirror on her cupboard.

Nsu took her in his arms. "Listen to me, lamb. I am sincerely glad that you are marrying Prince Ordainat, better him than some cold-hearted man."

Miu was still hesitant. "I just met him this noon, brother."

"Actually, lamb, you've known him since you were a baby. You were barely 2 months when you were betrothed." Nsu kissed her temple.

She raised a skeptical eyebrow. "You know the only reason why I'm marrying this prince is so that he can gain more land. I'd much rather marry Maninto." Her thoughts wondered to her male servant, who is like a best friend to her.

Nsu looked at her for a moment in silence. "Don't sell father short, lamb. Maybe he just wanted to find a good man to be your suitor."

Miu gave her brother anther large hug. "Just you and me like always, eh Nsu?"

Nsu kept his arms tight around her. "Come on, lamb, I think it's time we get to know your husband better."

Nsu and Miu walked down the halls, hand and hand, to meet her father and the King and Prince.

"Miu, Nsu. Please, Please, come in." Their father greeted them when the hesitantly opened the door.

Yakin and Ordainat instantly stopped talking to each other.

"Miu, I'm sure that Nsu has explained the circumstances to you." Her father presumed.

"Yes, father." Miu mumbled.

Her father started to smile brilliantly. "Well, then, it is settled! Ordainat and Miu will be married at once!"

Miu stole a glance at Ordainat, who she found was staring at her with wonder. When he discovered she was looking at him also, he gave her a loving smile.

She could not help but smile back at him.
