Society Conforms- a collection of anti-conventional stuff

By: Cindy Moon

THEY make their cliques.

A pattern of who’s who and what’s what.

THEY shun, then THEY lean over to hear what you say.

Of course to mock it.

One of THEM walks this way.

A dearth of self-esteem, time to refill.

IT stands.

IT watches.

THEY sent IT over here.

One of THEM turns

One of THEM tells ME

(Me who isn’t a clique)

I AM nobody.

One of THEM I AM not.

IT tells me

“Bitch!”

So there’s the difference between ME and THEM.

I can walk away smiling.

Why is she on top of him like such?

On him again,

But a different him then before.

What an eclectic selection of me.

No, they aren’t men

Just boys pretending to be

Which is why she walks away.

The moaning and groaning through paper thin walls.

Purposely trying to annoy the Hell out of me.

(Actually that’s not such a bad idea.)

The conversations strong enough to carry over to the excluded.

(About what you think, I don’t give a damn.)

How hard IS it for you to get attention?

Prancing around in those low rise jeans and halter tops.

(Such low confidence you have to strip)

Oh well. Such is life.

Just try to keep yours away from mine.

I can’t help it if you’re a slut.
