“Grand Adventure”
February 1, 2001

When I found out that you had passed away
I cried bitter tears that would not stay
And I was held as I shook that night
As I fought off sadness with all my might

I used to think that you were immortal
That you would be around forever
And that you’d always be there for me
When I fell

I used to think that you were heaven-sent
That you were an angel in disguise
And that you’d always be there for me
When I wept

It’s your presence that keeps me strong
Because you’re here with me, wherever I go
Despite the pain, I simply know

I know you were meant to touch my life
To make me aware of what I was
And now I can cry happy tears and smile
As I remember

And I believe that you are immortal
Meant to touch a million souls
And I will wish for you wherever I go
As you fly

So no sad tears grace my face; that time is no more
I simply turn my eyes upward to watch you soar
Your journey has just begun, as far as I can see
For in my heart, you will always be
