Disclaimer: The poem’s mine. No one else’s. That’s all.
Author’s Note: I wrote this today, during a meeting for my school’s literary magazine. A very strange poem. Anyway, happy early Halloween from me :) By “them” I mean the people who give out candy, and “they” I mean children.
A time when friendships are formed
when fears are cast aside
and sweets of all sorts are handed out
or a trick will be pulled be on them
Laughter, joy and smiles are shared
and then they’re off on their way
to get more candy
A time when pumpkins are carved
the leaves shine glorious gold
red, orange, brown and yellow
colors
when jack-o-lanterns are proudly hung on display
on porches
and doorsteps
A night when ghouls and ghosts
and skeletons and witches
are not feared
and instead cause joy among people
All Hallow’s Eve.
