Once upon a lonely moon
Sat a child
Dressed in gloom
All day long
He wept and wept
For his mother
Slept and slept
The whole night through
He tossed and turned
For his father
Burned and burned
Come the Saturday s
He swept and swept
For his sister
Leapt and leapt
Then on Sundays
He baked and cooked
For his brother
Looked and looked
Then one day
The moon turned blue
And upon his face
Appeared a clue
