WATCH THE SUN SET, AND YOU'LL SEE A LIAR
A Villanelle
Watch the sun set, and you'll see a liar,
Nature itself loves to hide in plain sight.
Fire, hidden or not, is still fire.

Men of hate search for others to sire,
And they cast long shadows down upon light.
Watch the sun set, and you'll see a liar.

Artists starve for love, yet never tire,
Of sparking small emotion and delight
Fire, hidden or not, is still fire.

New Age wills sale to the highest buyer,
And ignorance is embraced outright.
Watch the sun set, and you'll see a liar.

Truth, still constant, burns above all mire,
One candle can pierce even darkest night.
Fire, hidden or not, is still fire.

Honor and Truth shun selfish acquire.
Evil falls easily without a fight.
Watch the sun set, and you'll see a liar.
Fire, hidden or not, is still fire.
