i feel as if i could just
lift my arms and float away,
weightless in the vastness
of a spicy crimson sky.

do you know what it means
to watch your best friend fade to black?

or what the world looks like
through the eyes of a killer?

and can you find the sense
in the magnetism that pulled them
to opposite ends of the spectrum;
and if you can, could you tell me?

2.

i realized yesterday while the world was
spinning on its axis that
sometimes i forget to breathe.
