I had a rose within my hand
Poured my heart out without shame
Agonised those painful hours to gain a petty dollar,
To purchase the beautiful thing.
I handed it to my love, and smiled
Though you watched me from afar
With a jaded grin, your malicious intent
In spite of me, and my emotional wellbeing.
I held her gentle hand ever so carefully
Trotting lightly through the hostile battlefield
The one you created through the rumours
The voices in the distance
The teasing and taunting you created,
To pry upon the weak –
To make your own self feel popular.
Yet what did you truly achieve,
Other than the loss of a true friend?
I cannot write without a passion
I cannot dance without a flame
But you tore away at my work
And stared at it with malice.
I did not turn my eye away,
Yet I tried and searched for the beauty
You have within.
I cannot stare upon you with hatred,
Nor despise or dislike
Though what you showed me, twoface
Was not brought by the kin of Gemini
But a jealousy you possess deep within
Your subconscious, desire and destiny.
I do not know what I did to deserve this
Though repeating it would make me
A lesser monster than you.
You are horrible, but you are beautiful.
You show me hatred, you show dislike,
Though I see the beauty within you.
I beg you see to what you have done
And realise, I wish not an enemy of you
But the beautiful one inside who has buried itself.
