** Introduction **

Yellow eyes shined bright underneath jagged bangs of jet black hair as the sky darkened and day went to night. Breath became labored and sweat trickled down his neck as he slowly unsheathed his blade. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, boy," a rough and older voice cautioned from behind the young man.

The young man whirled around and metal clashed together as the older man easily blocked the upwards swing of the young man's blade. His yellow orbs flashed menicingly as he scanned the man who stood before him and slid the blade away. "How did you know of my whereabouts?" The young man asked in a weezing like voice, one that would be owned by a much older man and it seethed with mystery.

"That is none of your concern, Skyler."

"It is if it concerns my position at night. Now, I will ask again and you'd better give me a straight forward answer or else-"

"Or else what? You'll kill me with that pathetic excuse for a blade?" The older man interrupted, his jade green eyes flashed challengingly.

Skyler sheathed his blade and stood at his full height, which was 5'8. "I'd rather not injure an old man like yourself, Anthony. Besides, this isn't where my target is supposed to arrive at."

Anthony frowned and sheathed his blade, which was larger than Skyler's and a sort of metallic blue color. "Assassination?"

"No, just target practice."

The two glared hard at each other and Skyler turned towards the left to face a brick wall. "Stay out of my business, or you'll have much more than me to deal with, Anthony."

Skyler walked through the brick wall and vanished. Anthony frowned and ran his gloved right hand through his sandy blonde hair. "Outwitted again by him, Anthony?" A young man asked as he entered the alleyway.

"Keep your damn nose out, Wesley," Anthony snapped and brushed past the young man.

"Oh, someone is pissed off."

Wesley turned around and walked behind Anthony.

~~ Title ~~ Crimson Blade

Skyler stepped out of a brick building and looked around the empty, dark town of Vald Narnia. His yellow orbs scanned the town and he locked onto a small building. He strolled over to the building and raised up his right hand. His hand was covered in a design of vines and a couple of symbols. Skyler closed his eyes and his whole body glowed brightly with crimson red energy. The doors opened with a burst and Skyler opened his eyes, breathed deeply and stepped inside.

"Welcome back."

Skyler turned to the left and a figure unnattached itself from the shadows. "It's not like you to welcome me back, Lex," he said with a quirked smile.

Lex shrugged his broad shoulders and glanced at Skyler's sheath with his gray eyes. "You haven't killed anyone, that is a shame," the vampire said and sighed.

Skyler frowned and stormed up a pair of steps towards a chair. He plunkered down and tossed the blade to the floor at the bottom of the stairs. "Anthony was there, I couldn't attack anything. You know how his followers do exactly that...follow and I couldn't afford to get caught," he growled.

Lex knelt on the floor at the foot of the steps and snatched up the blade. His long, aubrun hair flowed down his shoulder and touched the floor. "Was anyone else there? The Watchers?"

"No, they must have taken a break to catch a couple of humans. I didn't hear their whistles so I didn't anticipate a surprise from Anthony and company."

Skyler groaned and threw up his hands in rage. "What the fuck am I to do when that blasted halfling gets in my way!?" He exclaimed.

Lex stood up and held the sheathed blade in his right hand. His nails were black and long. Sharp also and were trimmed well. "Kill him," he said.

"How do I when those halflings outnumber me?!"

"Portals, you know how to teleport don't you? Use it wisely."

Lex smiled thoughtfully. "Master will like this war very much," he said with a sinister chuckle.

Skyler snorted. "Bitches to the fucking devil," he snapped.

"I hope he hadn't heard that for your sake."

Skyler shrugged and stood up from his chair. "I think I'm going to get out of this place tonight. Maybe find Anthony and persuade him to back the fuck off," he muttered and vanished as he stepped down onto the first step.

Lex smirked and stroked the blade. "In no time...we will have an army," he chuckled.

"Sidney!"

"Mmmm......ne....," I mumbled in my sleep.

"SIDNEY!!!!"

I groaned and flipped onto my stomach. "Just ten more m-"

Two strong hands clasped my shorts and I was lifted from my bed. I cried out in pain and horror as I was dragged from my bed then out into the hallway. "Let me go, Andrew!" I shrieked at my older brother.

"No, Sid! You said ten more minutes an HOUR AGO! Time to get out of bed, into the shower and downstairs to eat LUNCH because you MISSED breakfast! It's nearly noon now!" He yelled.

I clawed at anything I could get a hold of and tried to get away from my brother's grip, but I would have risked my shorts which would have left me nude in the hallway. Andrew picked me up higher and dropped me in front of the bathroom door. "Now, take a goddamn shower!" He ordered and walked over me.

My back cracked and I laid still for a while until his footsteps had droned out from the hallway. I closed my eyes. "Don't even think about falling asleep in the hallway! I'll send the dogs up there!" Andrew called from downstairs.

I jumped up and rushed into the bathroom to take my shower. I washed my unruly mop of red, dyed orange, hair and lathered my body with soap. I stepped out of the shower after I rinsed out the shampoo and soap, wrapped a towel around my waste and raced to my room. The boxers I changed into were fresh from the drier and I recieved cold chills by it. I dressed in blue jeans and a beater before I ran downstairs and into the kitchen where Andrew had already plopped three pancakes on a plate. "Eat up," Andrew said.

"I thought it was lunch...not breakfast," I murmered and sat down.

"I couldn't think of any lunch food to make so I decided on pancakes, have a problem with it?"

I evaded his death glares and spooned butter onto my pancakes. Andrew babbled on about my sleeping in habits and waved the spatula hard enough that I worried for my safety, I really couldn't trust my brother with any object in his hand when he was going on like that because he had the tendency to -accidently- let it go and it'd end up in someone's face. After I was lectured and practically offended, I left the kitchen. I entered the living room and suddenly I felt a very cold, icey chill on my back. I turned halfway and a figure sped across the kitchen. My heart thumped hard against my chest and I turned around fully. A man appeared only a few feet from me and smiled. "Boo," he said.

"What the hell!!?" I yelled and stumbled back.

Someone grabbed me and covered my eyes with something. I blacked out from shock and horror. That man had been dead, his eye sockets empty and his skin melted away.
