"Take me to your master!" I cried, while my body was being dragged by strong, gloved hands. I couldn't seem to get my mind off of those eyes...those horrible, milky blue eyes.
"Silence! You will be taken where we take ye..." one of the guards shouted, jamming a long-barreled gun into the back of my head. My frail body was hurting all over and my arms made a crack and a popping noise with every one of their heavy steps.
"Stay in there 'til we come'n getchya..." the guard to the right of me said and shut the heavy metal door behind him. I crept slowly into the shadowed corner and wrapped my arms around my legs. My body was quivering all over.
A few long moments later, the heavy metal door opened slowly. This time, only one large man with armor and a long black cape was standing there. To my amazement, he gently held out a hand.
"Come on..." he said, with a low, Irish accent.
"Wher...where are we g..going?" I said politely, though I wasn't sure why I wasn't being as hostile as before.
"We're going to see the master now, isn't that what ye requested, miss?"
"Oh...yes, it is..." I said, and got up to my feet, though my knees were still trembling.
"Can ye walk?"
"Yes, I'm fine..."
"Uhh..." he started, not wanting to be so kind, "if ye can't, I cen carry'a..."
"No," I smiled with a gentle laugh, "I can walk myself..."
He began walking with heavy steps, making sure I stayed right behind him. I was looking at my feet as I walked behind him at the same quick pace he was walking.
"The master is in 'ere...I'll come out and getch'a when he's ready, mmkay?"
I nodded lightly, and took a seat between two heavily armed men. I couldn't help but think again of those eyes. Those horrible, milky blue eyes...
"The master is ready," again replied the guard who had escorted me alone to the chambers of the master.
"Okay..." I said, breathed heavily out my nose, and followed him silently into the large room. Everything was stone, and the only light was of the large white candles. I didn't want to look about the room. I just wanted to keep my eyes on my feet until I was given permission to speak.
"Take a seat, darling," I heard the same, familiar soft voice say. I did as he told. "Now...why were you again caught around here? Why do you think you can do things as you please?"
I didn't want to speak. He did not tell me I could yet. "You may speak, love," he muttered.
"Okay, well, I came back because I---"
"Look at me when you speak, please," said the master, cutting me off. I blinked slowly and looked up into those same milky blue eyes.
"As I was saying," I continued, at a slightly more aggressive tone, "I came back because I forgot my bag..."
"Darling, don't lie to me," he smiled with a gentle laugh, "you didn't have a bag last time. Now really, why did you come back?"
"Because," I began, "I needed to see this place once more...I needed to once more prove to myself that it's real. I needed to see you again...I needed to..." I found myself not able to finish. My eyes had adverted to the ground again.
"You needed what, love?"
"I needed to look into your eyes once more...master..."
"Is that so? My eyes...? Do you find them..." he got up and moved without a sound to my side, "do you find them...enchanting?" His breath was hot and against my neck with each light breath he took.
"Y..yes..."
"Well then, turn to me, love, look into my eyes..."
I did as he told me. I turned my gaze to his pale white face and looked deep into his eyes. His stare was intense, but kind. I blinked a few times and looked back to the ground.
"Is that it?"
"Yes..." I said, not wanting to say anymore.
"I don't believe it is...I told you what would happen if you came back, did I not?"
"You did, but please master, do not do as you told me. I'm sorry I was so thoughtless and came back. I swear I will do anything, but please, do not do that!"
"You swear you will do anything if I do not sacrifice you?"
"Anything," I said, a tear dripping down my soft cheek.
"Well then!" he said, and turned to the same polite guard, "set up the ceremony. I want my outer-wear on my bedding and the tools set up promptly. She says she will do anything, Agrim, anything..."
"Yes, master..."
"The...the ceremony?" I asked, not wanting to show my deep fright.
"Yes," he said with a soft smile and turned to me, "to make you one of us."
"Oh..." I said, looking down once more, "Master?"
"Yes?"
"What shall I call you once I am...one of you?"
He just smiled and nealed down in front of my seat. "You needn't worry about that right now, lady fair..." he heaved a heavy sigh. "The clothing I will be expecting you to arrive in will be in your chambers...they will take you there now..."
Two women dressed in black and red corsets with long flowing black skirts walked over to me. The each grabbed an arm as they dragged me into a smaller stone room.
"Oh, you're going to look soooooo lovely," one of them said.
"Now Drucella, don't be as clumsy as you were before! You might kill this one, as well!"
"I swear I won't, Alvasia, don't be scaring the young girl!"
I sat there as they undressed me, my dark scars being exposed.
"Ahh..." said Drucella, "she's already used to the pain?"
A tear once more dripped down my cheek as I turned to a large doorway. What can this ceremony be? I thought, thoroghly scared for my life.
