Queen of Storm and Destruction

~~*~~

“Yet cease your ire, you angry stars of heaven!” ~~William Shakespeare, Pericles

~~*~~

Her beauty is in the gust of wind, her

power in the rain.  No mild showers these,

no gentle spring sprinkling, but the

full torrent and fury of the spirit

of fire, of hellstorms and the strength of

forces beyond human reckoning.

A fickle Goddess, whose divine mark

is on hurricane and tornado alike, whose

tempers shake the earth and whose

tantrums rock the seas.  Her howl

is in the wind, Her frustrated tears

in the relentless, pounding monsoon.

She is everything in extreme, the slight chill

that turns to blizzard winds, the breeze

that billows to rip roofs from houses,

the trickling stream that swells to

flood.  A wondrous glory, beautiful, horrific,

and awe-inspiring, all at once.
