A Thread of Warmth
Do all skies move so slowly?
As if waiting for more,
That what life has provided,
And what the extra bit is for,
Does everything seem a standstill?
Moving from time to time,
In a never-ending dance of chance,
Formed in understanding minds,
Following destruction of more,
Of lives, hopes, dreams, and spirit,
Dancing like flames on ice,
The warmth, can you feel it?
With so much cold numbing,
Can you feel it reach out to you?
Like the skies wait all through time,
Wait our lives born and through,
Cold, shimmering and frozen,
And yet a single thread of fire,
Making the world seem good,
Stretching cold spirits higher,
Forcing them to become better,
Far from the coldness in their soul,
Make them become the backbone,
Of a better world to the full,
Living their lives worthwhile,
The skies above suddenly moving,
The sun’s warmth and glorious smile,
Melting the iciness in the hearts,
And on the field, sky and earth,
And those who thought they were dead to all,
Are born again and warm instead of cold first,
Reach for the thread, or be frozen forever.
