Answers The Music
Shapes moving faster than the eye,
Carrying shadows, fears, dreams, voices,
All in one movement,
One place,
One reality,
One world,
Yet, not here, nor there,
Where do they go? When will the stop?
Never, answers the music, never,
Dancers, dancing across the stage,
Caring more than just dancing,
Throwing in their all,
Becoming the spirit,
More than a dance,
More than a stage,
More than anything,
Where do they spin? Leap, hop?
Whenever, answers the music, whenever,
Wind, past trees, buildings, and all,
Carrying upon its shoulders the world,
Lovingly cradling us to itself,
Shading us from hardships,
Is it beauty within beauty?
And echoing melody,
For love of life combined,
How do they choose? Who does it choose?
Anyone, answers the music, anyone,
Flames etch the sky, burning, roaring,
Caring from their frost-bitten souls,
Possible and impossible,
A paradox upon the shoulders of time,
Answered by many,
And unanswered by them as well,
Yet, the answer stays inside, waiting,
Can this be possible? Can we truly fathom?
Always, answers the music, always,
Darting people, busy, yet, they aren’t,
Wandering from dream to dream,
Reality is but an image, standing alone,
As still as a calm summer,
A serene winter,
Of north, south,
Betwixt more than imagination,
Is it always so? Will it be before or after?
Forever, answers the music, forever
Note:
This is inspired off the song Itasca from Cathy Morris’s CD. I claim no rights to the song. But it is interesting when you read the poem and listen to the song at the same time.
