She is Gone

By: Chicago

Pale gray skin,

Eyes that will never open again.

No breath in her lungs,

No life in her body.

Killed by a drunk

On a lone desert road.

How her family feels,

She will never know.

Tears have been shed.

The mourning is done.

The rest of the world never knew,

But her family still can’t believe.

She is gone.

But she will never leave.

A.N. I wrote this in May of 2000, when I was in 8th grade. I like the way it is written, but not the actual poem...

*sighs* I do like how it shows how I’ve progressed, though…

As always, R&R greatly appriciated!
