Regret

Regret is all it is

One thing you know you have

You know you could’ve changed things

But you let them stay the same

It was regret that made you upset

And you knew you were to blame

But things stayed the same

Regret is just one thing

Stemming from so many others

You wish you could still blame yourself

But you just want to sulk, and hurt

And cry against the wall until summer’s over

Wishing you could say bye-bye to it

But it’s the price you pay

The price you tell yourself to pay

Knowing it won’t leave until you’ve jumped off that cliff

Not your friend even though it’s so fond of you,

You don’t give up regret.
