silence, whimpers all around me
sounds of death, elsewhere,
rings a chorus in my ear.
shadows of a doubt,
drawn stealthy - cast over there
reflections of a doubt
leap of the snow
soak into me.
laying in the street,
in puddles of my own blood
silently, for once
mutely crying "let me die".
The Sky hung peacefully
Sky of a country, called betrayal
that Sky - witnessed too much.
watched them come find me
drag me out there playfully,
then draw out their long knives
and maul me.
I suppose they thought they'd killed me,
but I'm still here -
dying under that Sky.
