In my mind
There is a box
And in it lies a secret
A secret I can never tell
A secret that I hide so well
A secret that is never seen
Of what to be and what has been
And sometimes when I take it out
I like to bawl and scream and shout
But only for a while I release
It's my private, insane, little piece
Tales of life old and new
Happiness is a rusty screw
Plunged deep inside sore, lonely heart
It would and could rip your life apart
So now I put it down to lay
And listen as you quietly say
I'm sorry that you hurt too much
From silly tales of life and such
Back in the box
It rattles and cries
Leaning back, I sit and sigh
And for a time I ignore
