Wilting trees and broken leaves
Strewn about on a gentle breeze
A leaf once good and green and true
Is aimless lost without a clue
The green replaced by browns and death
From but the touch of October's breath
All it has is downward course
And All I have is great remorse
A teardrop quickly hits the ground
The beautiful leaf is falling down
Crumpled, fallen, withering, dying
The wind picks up and sends it flying
Its short life gone with the season
And we all know the many reasons
Was its one purpose to brown and die?
Was the greening time a lie?
I hope this Time of Death can end
I hope this tree can live again
Perhaps it can. Perhaps it can
A brighten up my dying land
