Life Preserver
Struggling,
Sinking,
floundering,
drowning.
I can't keep my head up,
my boat has broken up.
My crew has scattered to the South,
my crew is floundering at my side.
We call for help,
the sharks come out,
my crew's below the waves now.
I'm the captain who loves her ship,
but can't keep it afloat.
I'm the one who stays behind,
to bob along my boat.
The waves are big, the waves are dark,
they swamp my ships tall mast.
The thunder cracks,
the wind slaps,
my mast looks like it's breaking.
I can't hold on,
my mind is slipping.
I need a life preserver.
