The Party

-

"Akyn?" Kel asked once Ami had left. Akyn looked at Kel, and for a moment, she thought she would disappear into his eyes... she wish she could... "Why wasn't I invited to the party?"

"Simple," Akyn smiled slightly. "Ami's family is poor and starving, and doesn't have a lotta good hunters. Your family is full of great hunters who strive. My family thinks they can get something from Ami's family if they help them, so they get invited, and yours doesn't."

"But I wanna go!" Kel pouted.

'Only to see you...' she added silently to herself.

"Then come," Akyn said simply, smirking. "It's of no trouble to me. But make sure your wearing a dress cause it's formal, alright?"

"Alright," Kel nodded a few times. "I'll see you at the party Akyn."

"You too Kel."

-

Kel had rushed home as fast as she could, and was now sitting down in front of the clothes she owned, trying to find something to wear...

"How is it that I have no dresses?" she muses, frowning. "I'm exposed to wear a dress..." She heard a knock at the door, and went over. Ami looked up at her. "Hey Ami."

"Hey Kel..." Ami came in slowly, and looked at Kel. "I'm bored... I got my aunt to blow up in my face and now I don't have to wear a stupid dress or go to the party."

"Oh!" Kel's eyes lit up. "I'm going to the party! You have a dress I can have, right?"

"Hmm... maybe," Ami stepped back a bit, and looked Kel up and down. "Yeah... I think I have one from six months ago or something that would fit you... shall we go get it or shall we stay here and skip the party?"

"I told Akyn I would come!" Kel said, glaring at Ami slightly. Ami grinned.

"Ooo..." Ami chuckled. "Now I'm glad I'm not coming... you two are gonna go get kissy kissy in a corner."

"Are not!" Kel glared at Ami more. "That's just gross! We're just friends!"

"Admit it," Ami said, rolling her eyes. "You have daydreams about Akyn, and you wanna spend the rest of your life with him."

"No," Kel said stubbornly.

"Admit it and I'll let you have any and all of my dresses that you would like."

"Fine... I have daydreams about Akyn and I want to spend the rest of my life with him... but not kissy kissy!! That's just gross..."

"Your so young," Ami laughed a little.

"Only a few months younger then you," Kel pointed out.

"Ah... but I know more about life then you," Ami shot back playfully. Kel only pouted, not knowing if the fact was true or only a joke. "Now come on... let's get your dress... not much of a sacrafice to me... I'm planning on burning them next week anyways..."

Kel nodded, and led the way.

Slowly, they walked along the trees, to just the outskirts of the forest, where Ami's tree house home was. Ami was about to climb up, when she remembered something.

"Oh... there's the most adorable puppy here..." she said, heading towards her pony's stall. Kel followed curiously, and saw Ami at the corner, smiling at a small white puppy.

"Awe..." Kel smiled as well. "What are you going to call him?"

"Fürst," Ami responded. She stood up with the puppy, and brought him over to Kel.

"I'm sorry..." Kel said, blinking cutely a few times. "I'm not fluent in your funny fairy tale language..."

"Its not a fairy tail language," Ami laughed a little. "And Fürst means Prince. He's a little prince and his name is Fürst."

"Alright..." Kel laughed. "Your just... strange."

"And your immature," Ami shot back.

"Can we get the dress now?"

"Sure..." Ami put Fürst back down in the hay, and whispered a few calming words to the pup. "Let's go..."

She led the way up into her home, and then went to her tiny little room. There she shuffled through her clothes stacked neatly in a corner, until she came up to a light blue dress, with a darker blue hem, and a blue bow at the waist.

"Awe..." Kel took it like a child to a new toy. "How pretty!!"

"Yeah... whatever..." Ami said, rolling her eyes. "Put it on and desert me. Go to your Beliebter Ritter(1)."

"My what now?" Kel asked, blinking a few times.

"Um..." Ami stumbled for the words. "Your... bestest friend in the whole wide world." Ami nodded a few times, just to get the point across.

"I wouldn't have to move to get to my bestest friend in the whole wide world," Kel smirked.

"Did I say bestest?" Ami said hesitantly. "I meant second bestest... heehee..."

"Okay," Kel shrugged, accepting the answer. Ami seemed to breathe a little easier as she left the room to give Kel some privacy as she changed.

Kel changed quickly into the blue dress. She loved it. It accented her eyes nicely.

Ami came back in, and gave Kel one look.

"Okay... your good to go to you Beliebter Ritter," she said simply.

"I'll say hi to Akyn for you," Kel answered back cheerfully. She left the room, and skipped up to the porch. There, she jumped off, doing a simple flip, the dress hindering her from doing any more of a complecated one.

When Kel arrived at the party, she looked wide eyed at everything. It was amasing to her that she was at such a lively event.

As she entered the main room, the room went quiet, filled with mostly whispers on the rare beauty entering the room. Kel looked around, slightly confused, but her eyes gleamed over with happiness when she spotted Akyn.

Akyn walked over to her, and smiled.

"Welcome," Akyn said politely; he was dressed smartly in black pants and a white tunic. "To the party... would you like to dance Kelandrial?"

"Of course Akyn," Kel answered, a smile gracing her lips.

The room at once filled with cheerful chatter, as the two friends began to dance until they feet hurt.
