Chapter 26: Epilogue
We arrived at port, in about a week. Salyti and Mahyia had planned their wedding to the fullest detail and both seemed equally excited and nervous about it. By the time we had left the ship, however, Salyti had disappeared, mysteriously. Distressed, his bride-to-be left in search of him, just yesterday.
Lauren, Yamato's daughter, wanted to become educated like her brother. So, she was sent away to a private school, where she studies like Earth students do. She writes to Yamato about once a week.
Chris returned to his restaurant, happily becoming an uncle to Kiram's child. He spoils that little girl. Kiram and Kenji still live in that town, raising their little girl, Sayla. They haven't planned on having another child, nor do I think they will.
Gwaihir returned to his kingdom, to find the construction almost complete. Last year, he officially took the throne. We were invited to the feast and ceremony. Of course, Yamato amazed most of the dragons with his eating skills. Gwaihir keeps in contact, sending funny drawings and notes every once in a while.
Lenleth settled near the castle, in his other brother's town. He's now a practicing physician and soon-to-be dentist. He enjoys that kind of stuff. We don't see him very often, unless the electricity mysteriously goes out. He still hasn't quit being a scientist, still inventing strange contraptions and trying them out on the castle. He actually installed a heat pump to the castle water system, so now the castle gets heated running water.
Being busy around the castle, Yamato is still able to make time for us to sit down and talk. About a few days after we arrived home, Lenleth was able to remove the fish scales from his arms and legs. He's now working on several proposals, at once. He's still an amazing guy.
During the journey, Valndi and I grew closer together. I felt that I had made the right choice, for once in my life. Chris supported our being together, so did Yamato. After a couple of years being together, we have just decided to get married, in a few weeks. Of course, I am excited about it. My husband-to-be seems to be a bit nervous, especially when Yamato asks him about arrangements. He just makes me so happy; I never felt so loved and wanted by a person before. Soon after the wedding, Valndi is planning on searching for Salyti, himself. I hope Salyti's okay; for Mahyia and Valndi's sake.
