Have you ever felt a cold chill when you stepped inside a room?

If so, then you might have thought it to be just a difference in temperature inside the room. Thought nothing of it and went on with your day. He still stands there, in the doorway with a look of pure agony on his face as you step through him. His platinum, almost pure white, hair makes him look like a ghost of sorts and his dark purple eyes don't leave much to be seen. His face is young, flawless and fresh as if he was part of a superhuman colony off some planet where the boys looked like hott, buff models. His body is a rich tan, all over and leaves the mind to wonder if he sunbathed directly on the Sun. He wears an old style of clothing, which consists of black trousers and a white shirt. The shirt is stained with blood and his trousers are ripped at the bottom, as if he had been running a great deal. His shoulders are broad and his back strong, while his chest and abdominal muscles seem to be tensed permanently. A worker in the field would be a good guess. The blood is not his and his flawless face is pale for being as tan as he is. His shirt is ripped and it reveals a tattoo on his right hip of a cross. His neck has bar codes and you don't notice. You don't notice because he isn't in this time, but another time where hours are seconds and civilization is gone. This young man you had stepped through is dead and all he has left is his spirit. Merging between reality and fiction, this young man is yelling for help. Yet, the civilization is gone and no one can help. Seeping from within is a destiny we cannot avoid, a destiny which will leave us all in our graves and which will leave us all asking "why?".

Blood spattered against the white wall and the platinum haired young man's breath became labored. Sweat dripped off his nose and in his hands was a scythe. His hands trembled and his whole body shivered from his core. He dropped the scythe and backed away from the grotesque woman who laid there on the floor. Her head had bounced twice before it settled near the leg of a table, her eyes stared straight at him as blood oozed from the head and the body had just stopped convulsing. The platinum haired young man stood against the far wall and his breath weezed inside of his chest. His shirt was slightly shredded from the knife the woman used to defend herself and failed to cut him with. The young man closed his eyes and breathed in a deep breath. Sirens blared into the house and it shocked the young man back into reality. He dashed through the left hall, turned a sharp right and leaped over a small fence which kept a dog on the other side. His eyes widened and he covered his face as he jumped through the back window. He landed in bushes and quickly regained his boggled mind. The young man looked around hesitantly before he glided through the shadows and he stopped suddenly to listen. Footsteps rushed towards the back and he sprinted away from the house. "There he goes!" A voice called.

Adrenaline pumped through the body of the young man and he could smell his own fear as it seethed out of his body in sweat. His heart raced faster and faster as he heard dogs who were released by the local authorities. The young man leaped over a dead log and crashed into a bush, but he didn't stop. He couldn't stop.

"He went into the woods!" Another voice yelled.

"Shit," the young man breathed.

He jumped across a small stream and his foot slipped. He toppled over into the water and when he rolled over a dog appeared at the bank. He snarled and bared his teeth at the young man.

"We found him!" A voice exclaimed as the person closed in.

The young man moved and the dog took a dangerous step towards him. The young man fingered a rock and clutched it in his right hand. He stared at the dog and suddenly chucked the rock at it. The dog yelped and the young man leaped to his feet. He sprinted up the bank and through a dense underbrush. He could feel the blood pound in his ears and his head spinned with fatigue. His feet numbed and his clothing clutched to his body because of the water. His mind blanked a few times and he heard the dog as it neared him. He clenched his teeth and stopped. The dog raced towards him and the young man turned around to face the mutt. "I've had enough running! Come and get me if you want!" He yelled.

The dog snarled and leaped for the young man.
