You say you’re alive,
but are you sure?
I’m trying to remember when I last felt alive,
and I didn’t feel like I was slowly dying.
Because isn’t that what’s happening?
Because the very air we breathe contains oxygen.
It kills us you know,
but at the same time keeps us alive.
It’s the perfect paradox of itself.
Like us I guess.
We’re poisonous to this earth,
but without us it would die.
But it’s already dying, because the sun’s dying,
and when it goes, we go too.
So we’re already dying.
Though don’t you have to be alive to be dying?
But is what we’re doing really living?
Or are we just surviving from one day to the next?
But to be surviving don’t you have to be alive?
With every second of every minute of every hour,
another cell dies.
So part of us must be alive, so we’re living.
But part of us is dead, so we’re dying.
So are we alive or dead?
Living or dying?
Or are we somewhere between the two,
where all we’re doing is lying to ourselves,
trying to fool time and space
of what and were we are, to what and were we’re going?
I’m sure people call it growing old,
but isn’t that a sugar-coated term for dying?
I’m poisoning myself in the world I live,
be it with the chemicals in the air, or the oxygen instead.
I’m really struggling to remember when I last felt alive,
and I didn’t feel like I was going to die.
I’m stumbling to remember
and cursing all the while.
Maybe I’ve always been dying…

Hey guys, now I was wondering if someone would be interested in maybe proof reading some of my stuff, as there are lighter works I’d like to put up, but not sure how they’d be received, also with my stories, I’m not completely happy with how they are, so I’d be really happy if someone could maybe read them over and give me pointers on how to improve them and make them more satisfying for people to read.
