My adversary has moved on from me.
Flew off and left me in his wake.
He was the only one worthy.
He was my challenge and a half.
Pitted against each other from the beginning,
We fell right with the pattern laid out.
A constant rivalry as we competed,
Fighting in clever tactics to outsmart,
Wily maneuvers and twists unexpected.
But he flew away and left me to stay.
We were quite an even match,
Though I think I won one or two more.
(But I fight very dirty.)
No matter how intense,
It was just friendly fire.
I was his enigma,
He, my everlasting challenge.
So much emotion, undefined.
A twisted bond of love perhaps?
But no one knows and won't
For he's flown away to never return.
I guess that means I won.
