Eternal Darkness
by Cora Windover

*~*~*~*

Save me from eternal darkness
Save me from a tortured night
Save me from my noble wreckage
Save my soul tonight

And lift me up on wings of silver
Lift me to your golden halls
Let me sleep in sunlit chambers
Hear my pleading call

And though I know I don't deserve it
I should rot in seventh hell
Can it be worse than that I'm cursed?
Eternal darkness spell

Forced to lure and forced to lust
To curb that hunger in my veins
Forced to run before the dawn
For daylight causes pain

Can there be hope for midnight's children?
Locked up with forever's key
Please, my lord, have gentle mercy
Set my poor soul free

Save me from eternal darkness
Lift this curse of causing fright
Save me from eternal darkness
Bring me to eternal light.

*~*~*~*

This poem is about a vampire who wants out... Kind of relates to my other poem, The Nosferatu. Which is why it's here in fantasy, because The Nosferatu is also.
