Another Day

Another day
without your voice
goes by,
and I wonder why
I miss the sound of you.
We've always talked
of little things,
of life's simple joys and doubts.
Nothing grand, yet
in the absence of
that sweet, calming comfort,
the silence left resounds.

Another day
without your smile
goes by,
and I wonder why
I miss the sight of you.
The brightness in
your grey-green eyes
danced with mischief
or contentment or love
at any given time.
How did I find
someone so beautiful?

Another day
without your arms
go by,
and I wonder why
I miss the touch of you.
Wrapped inside them,
I've never felt
more secure, more sure of
what love should be.
Lost within your warm embrace,
it feels like finally
I've come home.

Another day
without you
goes by,
and I wonder
when
I'll spend
another day
with
you.
